Surveys & Interviews
I chose to approach my primary research with a means of questionnaires and interviews, in order to personally gather specific data that could then be analysed. The questionnaires were to be aimed primarily at the target group – Students; and the interviews would allow me to have an in-depth conversation with selected few professionals in relevant areas of my research.
I am looking to obtain clear responses that indicate the need for a dedicated space for students to de-stress, as well as ideas on what would need to be provided in this new space. I decided to create more than one questionnaire, so that the ‘problem’ research could be kept separate from the ‘solution’, and also to enable each one to contain a maximum of 10 questions. By keeping the questionnaires short I would be able to collect more responses, as students are more likely to take a few moments to complete them.
To find a strong range of responses, I arranged to interview members of staff from NTU that work in the health and well-being departments. These individuals would have expert knowledge on the subject of stressed students, and could maybe provide completely different information/suggestions on the matter.
